I’m Sara, Art Content Manager at Artlume, and I wanted to take a moment to spotlight a few of the incredible artists who’ve recently joined our platform. At Artlume, we work with creators from around the world, across diverse genres and mediums. From classic masterpieces to contemporary photography, our growing archive of over 15,000 works is designed to inspire, challenge, and connect.

New Media: Costas Picadas
Costas Picadas is a compelling new media artist whose work bridges the worlds of art, science, and nature. Fascinated by anatomy and the body’s regenerative capacities, he creates elegant, thought-provoking compositions that overlay microscopic cell imagery with his own photographs of forests and organic environments. Through these layered visuals, Picadas draws parallels between natural ecosystems and the human body - both capable of renewal, growth, and repair. At the heart of his practice is the belief that art can support healing by reconnecting us to our intrinsic biological resilience.

We’re honoured to welcome Manzi Léon, a self-taught figurative painter from Rwanda whose acrylic portraits of Black women are rich with emotion, dignity and quiet power. His work honours the resilience and complexity of the women in his community - mothers, sisters, friends and transforms their stories into visual poetry. Each brushstroke feels deeply personal, rooted in lived experience and an unwavering reverence for feminine strength.

Andrey Metelev is a gifted Russian photographer whose work explores the intersection of memory, motion, and emotion. In Faces in the Night, he uses long exposure to blur time and identity, creating haunting, painterly portraits that feel both distant and intimate. His photographs invite viewers to pause, to witness the beauty found in fleeting moments and the subtle trace of presence left behind.
